Since a child of 6yrs old my life has been filled with anger. I watched and heard my mother being beaten day after day by my step father and myself being hit and cowering as he laughed at me with his arm raised, delighted at my fear. I remember once sucking my packet of crisps from a bowl as the noise of the packet and me crunching them would send him into a rage. My life was a living hell at home and not much better at school.
I was taunted daily due to a problem with my feet. I was constantly in plaster all through my secondary school life as the doctors tried to find what was causing me so much pain. As I grew older the anger from my past started to manifest.
I have always had the family "temper". I was angry in seconds and would either run or hit, flight or fight!
All came to a head just before Xmas 2009. I put myself in a situation in which I ended up being arrested and charged with affray, ABH and dangerous driving. The long and the short of it was I needed to stop reacting to my anger through violence, but that was all I had ever witnessed so it was hard to know another way.
I contacted Wendy after a friend told me about her. It has been a life changing experience!! I have never had a lot of confidence due to being put down a lot during my life. That has changed since my fortnightly sessions with Wendy.
My anger and lack of self control were making my life very difficult. Wendy has helped me to understand that anger is a positive thing unless I wish to make it destructive.
She has shown me that I have choices and introduced me to tools that help to make it easier, It has worked fantastically!!!
I now have the confidence to have a confrontational argument without the need to just hit out! Something I never knew how to do and would never do! I have learnt how to handle my situations with calm and ease. I dont look at every day as a battle to hold my temperI am now enjoying my life thanks to Wendy.
It has definitely been LIFE CHANGING!!!
